Under the guidance of the Finance Manager you will provide accurate and efficient support across a wide range of finance duties including purchase ledger, sales ledger & payroll.

Description
Finance Assistant duties will include:
Finance & AccountingProcess purchase orders and supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorisationSupport with sales invoice creation and distribution; assist with debt monitoring and chasing paymentsHandle supplier queries, process refunds/credit notes, and liaise with staff and external contactsManage and maintain data on financial systemsAssist with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and petty cash/income handlingProvide financial reports and budget support to staff as requiredHelp to organise school trips and associated payments (hotels, transport, etc.)Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems for audit purposesAdministration & CommunicationAct as the first point of contact for finance-related queries, managing email and phone communications efficientlyMaintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial dataUpdate and maintain inventory/asset records and complete annual checksAssist with general office administration, including data entry, reception duties and producing documents or spreadsheetsProvide support and guidance to school staff on finance procedures and systems
Profile
A successful Finance Assistant should have:
* Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
