Mechanical Engineer
Croydon - South London / Surrey Area
£52,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package
I'm currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing business operating within the transport and industrial sectors.
This is a hands-on engineering role supporting overhaul, maintenance, investigation, and continuous improvement activities across a range of complex mechanical products and systems.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing practical engineering support across production, projects, quality, and operations.
* Conducting condition assessments, fault diagnosis, root cause investigations, and warranty reviews.
* Producing technical reports, method statements, test procedures, and overhaul instructions.
* Managing engineering changes, concessions, and technical documentation.
* Supporting overhaul and refurbishment projects from planning through to completion.
* Working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
* At least 6 years' engineering experience within manufacturing, maintenance, overhaul, industrial, transport, power generation, oil & gas, marine, rail, or similar sectors.
* Strong hands-on engineering and problem-solving capability.
* Experience writing technical procedures, reports, and engineering documentation.
* Knowledge of quality systems and engineering standards.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* A proactive, adaptable, and customer-focused approach.
