Grafton Recruitment is partnering with a rapidly scaling UK-based SaaS business operating in the RegTech / Compliance technology space, to hire an SME Sales Manager.

The Role
As SME Sales Manager, you'll take ownership of a team of Sales Associates and Sales Executives, driving performance, coaching in live deal environments, and embedding a high-expectation, high-support culture.
This role is ideal for:
* An experienced sales manager passionate about people leadership, or
* A top-performing senior sales professional ready to step into their first people management role.
You’ll be trusted with full responsibility for SME revenue performance, supported by a collaborative, growth-driven leadership team in a business that invests heavily in its people.
What You'll Be Doing
Sales Leadership & Team Performance
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of SME sales professionals
* Own and deliver the SME revenue number
* Drive consistent over-performance against KPIs (conversion, pipeline health, ARR, activity)
* Run regular pipeline reviews, forecasting sessions, and performance check-ins
Coaching & Development (Core to the Role)
* Join live discovery, demo, and negotiation calls to provide hands‑on coaching
* Run weekly skills sessions, deal clinics, and development workshops
* Create personal development plans and support clear career progression
Hands‑On Sales Execution
* Partner with reps on key deals to unblock challenges and improve outcomes
* Embed value‑led selling and strong negotiation frameworks
* Ensure sales methodology and process adherence across the team
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
o Work closely with Marketing, RevOps, and Partnerships to optimise lead quality and forecasting
o Feed market insights back into Product and go‑to‑market strategy
Operational Excellence
o Maintain CRM discipline and data accuracy
o Implement clear routines, expectations, and accountability frameworks
o Continuously improve sales processes and enablement materials
What We’re Looking For
o A strong people motivator who genuinely enjoys running and developing sales teams
o Experience in SaaS sales (SME segment preferred)
o Exposure to AML, KYC, Compliance, Risk or RegTech solutions
o Proven ability to coach live deals and sales conversations
o Data‑led mindset with confidence managing pipeline, forecasting, and performance metrics
o Familiarity with structured sales methodologies (MEDDICC, SPIN, Challenger, etc.)
o Collaborative leadership style with ambition to grow alongside the business
