April Programme – French School Group | Bracknell, Berkshire

At Global School Exchanges, we believe cultural immersion is one of the most powerful forms of education. Our mission is to create meaningful, transformative experiences that help young people become confident, open-minded Global Citizens.

This April (21st–27th), we will welcome a group of French students for a full cultural and linguistic immersion in the UK. We are looking for an enthusiastic, French-speaking Education Programme Coordinator to lead and inspire the group throughout their stay.

The Programme

During the programme, French students will:

* Be fully immersed in a British secondary school
* Attend lessons alongside their UK peers
* Live with carefully selected host families
* Take part in cultural excursions
* Stay with our British host families
* Strengthen their confidence in spoken English through real-life interaction

Your Role

As Programme Coordinator, you will be the central point of contact for the group and the driving force behind a smooth, inspiring and safe experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

Cultural & Language Leadership

* Supporting students in navigating a British school environment
* Encouraging language immersion and confidence in English
* Delivering engaging, interactive learning workshops (up to 1 hour after school)
* Leading cultural reflection activities to deepen intercultural understanding

Daily Coordination

* Welcoming students each morning and ensuring they meet their UK buddies
* Liaising with school staff throughout the day
* Ensuring smooth transitions between lessons and activities
* Overseeing safe and organised homestay collections at the end of each day

Excursion & Trip Leadership

* Leading cultural day trips (e.g. London)
* Coordinating with coach drivers
* Managing group movement and safety

Student Welfare & Homestay Communication

* Acting as a trusted and approachable adult for students
* Maintaining clear communication with host families
* Ensuring safeguarding, wellbeing and behavioural expectations are upheld at all times

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

* Is fluent in English and French
* Is naturally personable, positive and confident
* Has experience working with young people (teaching, youth work, mentoring or similar)
* Is culturally aware and passionate about intercultural learning
* Has strong organisational skills and a proactive "can-do" attitude
* Enjoys leading groups and taking initiative

Training & Dates

* Paid in-person training (travel expenses reimbursed)
* Programme Dates: 21st April – 27th April (Tuesday train arrival + Monday morning departure supervision included)

You should feel comfortable switching between facilitator, organiser, mentor and cultural guide - sometimes all in the same day.

Training: Paid in-person training. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Work Dates: 21st April- 27th April.

In addition to the April programme, we offer many further opportunities throughout the year to coordinate French and other international school groups, providing ongoing work for candidates who demonstrate strong leadership and cultural engagement.

Salary & Working Hours

* Tuesday arrival pick-up (approx. 3 hours)
* Wednesday-Friday school coordination approximately 8:00am–5:30pm
* Saturday day trip 8:30am-6pm
* Monday drop off supervision (approx. 2 hours)
* Salary: £583.33 per week

Coordinators are paid at £13.50 per hour.

* Proof of identity (and qualifications where applicable) will be requested
