Finance Manager Retail Location: Kent (Hybrid working) Contract: Permanent, full time (40 hours, MondayFriday) Fresh People are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, fast-paced Fresh Produce business operating within a retail-led environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Finance Manager to step into a business-partnering role supporting senior stakeholders and driving performance across a dynamic retail division. The Role Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of management accounting, forecasting, commercial analysis and decision support. Working closely with Commercial Directors and Procurement teams, you will play a key role in identifying risks and opportunities, improving margin performance, and supporting strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Act as a proactive Finance Business Partner to commercial and operational teams Deliver monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analysis Produce management accounts, review packs, and performance commentary Provide detailed commercial analysis to support trading and margin decisions Present and explain performance at regular trading and review meetings Identify risks and opportunities and challenge assumptions and KPIs Consignment reconciliation, margin analysis, and royalty/rebate calculations Support foreign currency planning and forward purchase proposals Maintain strong financial controls and support audit requirements Contribute to continuous improvement projects and ad-hoc analysis About You Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or qualified by experience Strong management accounting and commercial finance background Experience in FMCG, fresh produce, manufacturing, or a traded commodity environment Confident working closely with non-finance stakeholders and influencing decisions Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills Commercially astute, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills Whats on Offer Discretionary annual bonus up to 10% Hybrid working arrangement 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension and benefits package This role would suit a hands-on Finance Manager or a Senior Management Accountant ready for the next step, particularly someone who enjoys partnering with commercial teams and adding real value to the business.
