About the Pub The Seven Stars is situated in a rural well maintained affluent village of Shincliffe some three miles from city centre Durham. The pub consists of a 60 seater a la carte restaurant, a small snug bar and seven en-suite letting bedrooms. The cosy lounge is decorated to a high standard, with carpeted floors, wooden tables and a combination of fixed bench seating and loose chairs for around 20 covers. A fireplace at one end of the room adds to the homely feel, whilst water jugs hanging from the ceiling and art on the walls add character. The wooden bar servery hosts several cask ales and international brands. The large restaurant is decorated in a more contemporary style than the lounge and is split into two sections, with one part doubling up as the hotel lobby, and the rest of the space accommodating up to 60 customers. A private wood-panelled dining room has a tiled fireplace, carpeted flooring, and can comfortably seat six people. The fully equipped trade kitchen is of a good size and ideally placed to produce a high quality menu created with choice ingredients. The two single and six double rooms are all en-suite and are individually decorated to a good standard To the front are eight small tables which provide guests with a great spot to bask in the warm weather whilst debating what to eat from the menu. Regional Manager's Thoughts The Seven Stars is a beautiful property and a strong business which requires an experienced publican to keep abreast of the multi-faceted opportunities provided at this pub. With en-suite letting rooms, a restaurant, solid wet trade and good local support, this unique pub can be grown by continuing with the high retail standards which have been established across the operation. Surrounding Area The rear of the pub is highly visible to passing trade on the A177, whilst the front of the property is pretty and peaceful. The affluent village of Shincliffe is less than two miles away from Durham city centre, Durham University and Durham Castle, while the larger village of High Shincliffe is just half a mile away.
