Production/Manufacturing Manager
Location: Carlisle Area, United Kingdom
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 7:30am start

Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to lead production operations within a growing and innovative business specialising in onsite construction building. The company designs and manufactures high-end, architecturally inspired structures, offering customers the ability to create bespoke designs delivered and installed to specification. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in managing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all aspects of production across the manufacturing site.
* Manage a team of approximately 20 joiners and three team leaders, ensuring strong communication, teamwork, and productivity.
* Lead and motivate the team to deliver high-quality bespoke builds on time and within budget.
* Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
* Plan and coordinate labour resources, monitoring labour hours, budgets, and site KPIs.
* Oversee workflow, scheduling, and material planning to maintain production efficiency and adherence to project timelines.
* Maintain exceptional standards of craftsmanship, finish, and customer specification compliance.
* Liaise with senior management on production progress, challenges, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Work closely with design, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination across all project stages.
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality control.
* Report directly to the General Manager, providing regular updates on operational performance and team development.
Key Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in site management or production management within building or high-end joinery environments.
* Strong leadership skills, capable of managing teams and driving performance through engagement and accountability.
* Excellent organisational and planning ability, with a focus on quality and delivery.
* Confident in setting and monitoring KPIs, budgets, and labour performance.
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, material control, and production scheduling.
* Hands‑on approach with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship.
* Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Health & Safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
