Branch Manager – South West Merchant

Simon Acres Recruitment are proud to be working on behalf of a respected, national merchant to appoint an experienced and driven Branch Manager for their South West operation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused leader to take full operational and P&L responsibility for a dynamic and growing branch. You will be responsible for leading a team, shaping the strategic direction of the branch, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service, strong safety culture, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of branch operations, performance, and profitability
Lead, coach, and mentor a team to ensure high levels of engagement and productivity
Develop and execute a strategic business plan to meet and exceed branch targets
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, fostering a strong health & safety culture
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to drive competitive advantage
Maintain robust financial, legal, and operational governance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the branch
Create and implement a clear succession and people development plan
Ensure successful delivery of new business initiatives and operational improvements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Minimum 2 years' management experience, ideally within the merchant or construction sector
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of P&L management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking with the ability to translate ideas into action
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Confident decision-maker with strong delegation skills
Stakeholder and customer relationship management expertise
A passion for health & safety and continuous improvement
High levels of self-awareness, resilience, and initiative
