Housing Reviews Officer - Nottinghamshire (Local Authority)
A local authority in Nottinghamshire is seeking an experienced Housing Reviews Officer for a temporary contract, offering £33-£35 per hour (umbrella). This role is ideal for a specialist in housing, homelessness, and statutory housing reviews, with a strong background in Part VII and s202 decision‑making.
Role Overview
Carry out independent Housing Reviews (s202) of homelessness and housing allocation decisions for the local authority.
Conduct detailed investigations, gathering evidence and liaising with Housing Options, Legal Services, solicitors and partner agencies.
Draft and issue clear, defensible review decision letters in line with statutory deadlines.
Oversee temporary accommodation during the review process to ensure compliance, minimise risk and manage costs.
Provide feedback to front line housing teams to improve decision‑making and reduce repeat reviews.What We're Looking For
At least 12 months experience as a Housing Reviews Officer within a local authority (within the last two years).
Strong knowledge of Housing Act 1996, Part VII, s202, Review Regulations and homelessness case law.
Experience supporting vulnerable households through complex reviews.
Excellent written communication and strong organisational skills.Additional Details
Hybrid working, with 2 days office attendance required in Nottinghamshire.
