Job overview We are delighted to invite applications for a full‑time Specialty Doctor in ENT to join our dynamic and supportive team at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) Bath, a busy and well‑regarded District General Hospital. Our ENT service delivers high‑quality care to a population across Bath and the surrounding areas. In addition to clinics at the RUH, we provide services at Frome, Chippenham, Trowbridge and Warminster, offering candidates a varied and rewarding clinical role. Each year, our team sees approximately 15,000 patients across outpatient and inpatient settings. We manage a full spectrum of elective and emergency ENT conditions, providing both medical and surgical treatments. Outpatient clinics are delivered in close collaboration with our Audiology Department, which undertakes hearing assessments and the fitting and maintenance of hearing aids. We also benefit from strong multidisciplinary links with hearing therapists and speech and language therapists based at St Martin’s Hospital, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. The department is supported by a highly experienced and approachable senior team comprising seven Consultants and one Associate Specialist, all of whom undertake a broad range of subspecialty surgery, including: Otology Rhinology Laryngology Paediatrics Head & Neck Endocrine surgery You will join a friendly and well‑structured team that also includes one Staff Grade, two Specialist Registrars, four GP Trainees, two FY2 doctors and a Clinical Fellow, creating an excellent environment for learning, collaboration and professional development. Advert The post holder will be appointed as a Specialty Doctor in ENT and will play a key role in delivering high‑quality ENT care within a busy District General Hospital setting. The role involves the assessment, diagnosis and management of general ENT conditions across both outpatient clinics and inpatient services. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the management of emergency ENT presentations during normal working hours and to participate in the daytime on‑call rota, with appropriate senior support. This post offers a flexible and varied job plan, designed to meet both service needs and the strengths of the individual.
