Key Responsibilities
* Support the Stock Management Change Programme to transfer all stock locations onto the Trust Inventory Management System.
* Assist in managing and controlling stock across all departments through structured cycle counting, stock accuracy monitoring, and replenishment activities.
* Ensure accurate inventory records, support delivery of key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide operational cover for absences in the Supply Chain Team to maintain continuity of service.
* Check deliveries received on site, process them and distribute internally the same day to the relevant departments.
* Maintain wards/department storage areas and systems to the satisfaction of Supply Chain Management and Ward Sisters/Department Managers while upholding good inventory/materials management principles.
* Order items using electronic bar‑code reader and enter them into the Inventory Management (IM) System or NHSSC.
* Expedite orders, receive stock and put away, ensuring stock‑control principles are adhered to.
* Conduct scheduled cycle counts across all clinical and non‑clinical departments in line with agreed counting programmes.
* Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies in collaboration with ward/department staff and Supply Chain colleagues.
* Ensure stock levels are accurate within inventory management systems.
* Escalate significant variances or stock risks to the Supply Chain Supervisor.
* Assist in identifying obsolete, slow‑moving or excess stock.
* Follow standard operating procedures and guidelines for the Inventory Management system.
* Execute tasks as detailed by the Line Manager and Operating Procedures.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 12 months NHS Supply Chain experience with IT skills.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and must therefore submit a Disclosure and Barring Service check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
