Driver Training Manager
As the Trust evolves to continue supporting the education and development of our people, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic Driver Training Manager.
Responsibilities
* Take a lead expert role in all driver training aspects of the Trust’s business, ensuring legislation and national policies are adhered to.
* Lead the driving work‑streams within the development workforce strategy and action plan and achieve the Trust’s targets and strategic outcomes.
* Advise and report to the Trust on all matters related to driving skills and knowledge and support the Driving Standards Manager, Risk Management and Integrated Governance teams to promote accident prevention and reduce driving‑related incidents.
* Continually develop driver training programmes, quality‑assure the delivery of programmes by drivers and instructors, and lead the driving qualifications with the awarding body.
* Manage driver training locations, vehicles, health and safety and maintenance programmes in partnership with Fleet.
* Manage a team of driving instructors, administrators and tutors, including appraisal, recruitment, selection and day‑to‑day management.
* Travel across the Trust’s geographical area (Kent, Sussex and Surrey) as required.
* Allocate a primary dispatch desk and manage appointments accordingly.
* Deliver strategic objectives agreed with line manager.
Working Pattern
Full‑time 37.5‑hour week, 09:00‑17:00, Monday to Friday.
Location
Post holder will be allocated a specific dispatch desk as primary location; posts will be based in Kent, Sussex and Surrey, with travel across the Trust’s geographical area as required.

Requirements
* COVID‑19 vaccination required for patient‑facing duties unless medically exempt (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment).
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check—basic, standard or enhanced depending on role.
* Relevant NHS or equivalent driving training experience as indicated in the vacancy.
* Ability to travel across sites and manage a dispatch desk.
