The Job Role
To maintain plant and machinery in the highest order to always ensure availability of plant to the production team.
Support the project delivery team in the commissioning of the new machinery.
Support the production team in developing safe systems of work.
Develop robust maintenance plans in line with the manufacturer’s specification.
Conduct inspections of the plant equipment to identify and resolve issues.
Check electrical and mechanical systems of machinery to ensure functionality.
Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
Monitor expenses and budget for maintenance.
Manage relationships with service providers.
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.
Ensure health and safety policies are always complied with.
The Person
You will have off-site manufacturing industry experience and facilities management.
You will able and willing to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role, this may involve working different hours/days to accommodate shift working and potentially travel away from home if required to visit alternatives factory sites.
You will have a good knowledge and understanding of manufacturing machinery such as CNC machines and saws, with the ability to use skill and experience in problem solving to work things out and apply them to real situations.
Be confident, considered and take ownership for plant maintenance, be self-aware, resilient, optimistic and have a collaborative approach to working.
Have strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities.
You will have advanced people skills and the ability to communicate to a diverse range of people, as will need to communicate to employees and contractors at all levels.
You will hold a HND or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering and have a minimum of 3 years’ practical experience.
Be experience in planning maintenance schedules and hold a solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems. Be able to read schematics and have advanced trouble shooting skills.
Have a full understanding of safety equipment procedures and have the ability to keep track of and report on activity.
Have high levels of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and within time-scales, be able to build trust and rapport as well as be able to maintain confidentiality and integrity in all matters.
Hold a good knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation and procedures as well as a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
