This is an exciting new role within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to support the implementation of an electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system, providing an opportunity to play a key role in the biggest digital transformation to happen within the UHB to date.
We are looking for a highly organised, enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for improving patient safety and experience through the use of a digital system.
The ePMA system will transform the way that clinicians prescribe and administer medication, making current practice more efficient.This system will impact all kinds of staff groups, specialities and services across the health board and transform the way that staff work. This role provides the opportunity to develop strong working relationships with numerous stakeholders, actively engaging with clinical and support services to ensure successful implementation.
This role will sit within a dynamic and innovative project management team for the ePMA programme. This role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience and provide numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.
Main duties of the job
As a professional working at corporate level across the organisation with considerable freedom to act, the post holder will play a key role in supporting the ePMA team in the development and successful implementation of the ePMA system, providing optimum patient care, ensuring efficient use of resources and promoting a culture that is progressive and inclusive.
As well as shaping change by designing and implementing new policies and systems the post holder will need to use their influencing skills to make fundamental changes to the way we work, overcoming resistance along the way.

Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
* Highly developed knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and techniques, acquired through formal training, experience and/or qualification.
* In-depth specialist knowledge and expertise across a range of disciplines including Performance Management, Project Management, Quality and Service Improvement Tools/Techniques.
* Up to date knowledge and understanding of current priorities within NHS Wales
Desirable
* Recognised training in an improvement methodology
* Knowledge of NHS Wales and the political environment
* Knowledge of UHB information systems e.g. PMS, Business Intelligence System, Clinical Portal, Ward Clinical Workstation
* Knowledge of collating, analysing and interpreting data over time to support quality improvement e.g. run charts, SPC, pareto etc

* Demonstrable experience in the management and successful, quantifiable delivery of service improvement programmes using Improvement methodology
