The role: Community and Events Fundraiser
Contract: Fixed Term 14 months (Maternity Cover)
Hours: 37.5 hours a week including occasional weekend and evening work
Location: Stoke Mandeville Stadium, Aylesbury (flexible, hybrid)
Reporting to: Head of Fundraising, Data & Communications
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Fundraising team at WheelPower, a friendly, close-knit supportive team.
This role involves driving community and events fundraising, organising the Tour de Vale Bike Ride and other events at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, sourcing runners for third-party events like the Great North Run, supporting supporters to reach their fundraising targets, developing opportunities for community groups and local companies, and leading our schools fundraising programme.
About you
We seek a friendly, organized individual with a proven track record in meeting or exceeding targets from sponsorship-based events or community fundraising. Experience in supporter engagement, building relationships with volunteers and supporters, excellent communication skills, multi-tasking, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach are essential.

WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport, dedicated to helping disabled people lead active lives through sports sessions, advice, events, online classes, and partnerships. The role is based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium with a blended working approach, currently two days in the office per week. WheelPower is committed to diversity and inclusion.
Main responsibilities include:
* Organising the Tour de Vale Bike Ride, WheelPower’s largest fundraising event.
* Maximising income and awareness from events and community fundraising.
* Managing and expanding our portfolio of in-house and third-party fundraising events.
* Providing excellent support and building strong relationships with participants and supporters.
* Developing sustainable community fundraising activities.
* Maximising income from corporate, school, and community group partnerships.
* Recruiting and managing volunteers.
* Representing the charity at meetings and events, including presentations.
