This nationally significant infrastructure project has secured planning approval and government financing support, is now under construction, and is seeking private investment. Once complete, it will generate dependable electricity for 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting the UK’s goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050. We are seeking a highly experienced Rail Project Manager / Planner to support the development, integration, and maintenance of a robust schedule for the rail elements of the programme. The role will ensure seamless coordination across multiple interfaces and deliver infrastructure to cost, time, and quality. The rail scope includes: Upgrades to the Saxmundham to Leiston (SIZ) branch line and East Suffolk (ESK) line junction Temporary railheads in Ancillary Construction Area (ACA) and Temporary Construction Area (TCA) A single-track temporary railway from SIZ to the construction site Upgrades to track, signalling, and level crossings on the ESK line (delivered by Network Rail) Achieve operational readiness for the rail route to TCA by 23 February 2026 Complete commissioning and upgrades to Saxmundham junction by 1 June 2026 Ensure robust interface management with Network Rail, their supplier AtkinsRéalis, and other stakeholders Principal Accountabilities; Programme Scheduling & Planning Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 Conduct Clause 31/32 programme reviews, critical path analysis, and “What if” scenarios Lead integrated planning across interfacing projects Project Controls & Risk Management Implement robust controls for cost, risk, and change management Monitor performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) Maintain cost/resource-loaded schedules and produce data-driven reports Stakeholder & Interface Management Work closely with Network Rail, local authorities, and other external stakeholders Manage internal interfaces across the wider programme Ensure DCO compliance and discharge of Requirements Governance & Reporting Support governance processes and decision-making Use tools such as CEMAR and MS365 for documentation, issue resolution, and reporting Essential Experience: Rail infrastructure delivery experience Strong planning skills with Primavera P6 PTS and CSCS certification Working knowledge of Network Rail standards, GRIP process, and ASPRO requirements Experience engaging with Network Rail, suppliers (e.g., AtkinsRéalis ), and local stakeholders
