Offer description

We are seeking a digital communications innovator with a passion for community impact. If you believe that lived experience should shape the future of mental health services, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

The newly formed involvement and engagement department is building a co-creation community that puts patients, carers, and local voices at the heart of everything we do. As the Digital Outreach and Strategic Impact Lead, you will play a critical role in making this vision a reality by harnessing digital platforms to inspire, engage, and involve people in meaningful ways.

You will develop outreach strategies to grow and energise our Co-creation Community, designing and delivering creative online campaigns that invite people to shape services and share their views. You will also develop and manage digital tools and content to support involvement through social media and other interactive platforms.

Following the development of an ambitious Co-creation strategy, you will manage and report on the impact of our involvement work, helping us understand and amplify the differences co-creation makes to service design and patient outcomes. You will collaborate with internal and external communities to embed co-creation principles across the trust.

You will support the development of a modular training programme for Co-creation Community members to enable them to use their lived experience to inform service development and improvement. Additionally, you will support members to access relevant training to empower them to use their views and experience in co-creation projects.

It is important to have an appreciation of the social factors of mental ill health and the effects of health inequalities, such as social exclusion, discrimination, and stigma, which contribute to physical ill health. You should also understand the challenges faced by people and families in accessing mental health services.

Facilitating partnership working with staff, service users, and their families and carers, you will ensure involvement is considered in models of care. You will manage your time effectively to meet business and team needs and contribute to departmental priorities.

You will support co-creation in developing new policies or policy changes that amplify service user and carer voices, ensuring their perspectives are heard and acted upon throughout trust policies.

Join us in the Garden of England, where we combine professional development with a high quality of life. We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability, and specialist services to 1.8 million people in Kent and Medway, rated 'Good' by the CQC.
