Your new role
As Financial Controller, you will act as the number two to the CFO, taking ownership of day-to-day financial operations and ensuring robust financial control across the business. Key responsibilities include:
Leading cash flow management and working capital optimisationManaging banking relationships and financing arrangementsOverseeing accounts payable, receivable, and billing processesReviewing and finalising monthly management accounts with clear insightsValidating revenue, margins, and financial accuracy across operational activityDriving improvements in financial processes, controls, and reportingLeading and developing a small finance team
This is a hands-on role where you will play a critical part in strengthening financial performance and supporting business growth.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:A fully qualified accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)Strong experience in cash flow management and working capitalExposure to invoice discounting or financing arrangementsProven ability to produce and finalise management accountsA hands-on, operational mindset with strong attention to detailAdvanced Excel skills
Desirable experience includes:Healthcare, staffing, or project-based revenue environmentsExperience with timesheet or contractor-led revenue modelsFamiliarity with Xero or similar systems
