Our client is a leading organisation with a strong presence across multiple entities, committed to excellence and continuous improvement. They are seeking a talented Group Accountant to join their Finance team and play a pivotal role in managing group-wide financial reporting and consolidation.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Group Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant consolidated financial information for the group. This is a key position ensuring robust financial controls, statutory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in line with UK GAAP.
2. Manage intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency adjustments.
3. Oversee quarterly consolidated reporting to the parent company.
4. Assist with statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors during year-end audits.
5. Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and reporting standards.
6. Deliver insightful financial analysis, variance commentary, and group-level KPIs for senior leadership.
7. Support budgeting and forecasting processes, consolidating business unit submissions.
8. Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
9. Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, ERP/reporting system enhancements, and automation projects.
10. Support strategic projects such as corporate restructuring and acquisitions.
About You
11. Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (full or part qualified).
12. Strong technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP. Proven experience in group consolidation and multi-entity reporting.
13. Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
14. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
15. Minimum 2-3 years' relevant experience, demonstrating initiative and ability to bring fresh ideas.
