Ready to take the next step in your career? Make it one that truly matters.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join us at MacIntyre, supporting three welcoming homes across the Bedfordshire area, where every day is different and where the people we support lead lives that reflect who they truly are.
At MacIntyre, we believe everyone deserves to live a gloriously ordinary life one filled with purpose, connection, and joy. We’re a national charity with a proud reputation for providing creative, person-centred support to people with learning disabilities and autistic people.
This Deputy Manager role is a chance to make a real impact not only in the lives of the people we support but in the growth and development of your team.
About the role
You'll work closely with the Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of support across three homes. Our focus is on making sure the support we provide is tailored, empowering, and full of possibility and you'll play a key role in making that happen.
You’ll:
* Be a visible and supportive presence across all three homes
* Coach, mentor and develop staff teams who provide 24/7 support
* Carry out supervisions and appraisals, supporting staff with their own progression
* Build strong relationships with families, professionals and local networks
* Promote our "Everyone Everywhere" initiative, making the most of your team's gifts, skills and passions
* Take part in the local on-call rota, and work closely with other managers across Bedfordshire.
* Be supported by a local admin team, so you can focus on people, not paperwork
* Work 37.5 hours per week, with shifts that help ensure support is available across a 24/7 service, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
You'll work alongside people who have their own interests, dreams and personalities including:
David*, a 25-year-old who loves gardening, days out, and his growing independence. With your help, David will continue building his skills at home and in everyday life. You’ll help him manage his finances, travel to college and volunteering, always with dignity and respect at the centre.
Alfie and Joe*, young men who live together and are full of enthusiasm and potential. They love bowling, karaoke, exploring new places and enjoying time at home. Your team will help them grow in confidence, build routines, and discover what independence means to them.
You won’t just manage services you’ll be part of people’s everyday lives, celebrating achievements, navigating challenges, and supporting futures that are full of possibility.
"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding."
