Purpose We are seeking a Test Team Leader Technician to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe. As the Vehicle Emissions & EV Range Test Team Leader Technician, you will take the lead in managing a team responsible for conducting emissions testing and evaluating the range of electric vehicles. You will be a key player in ensuring that testing is carried out with the highest standards of accuracy, compliance and safety. Your leadership will ensure the smooth operation of test procedures and the delivery of key data to our engineering teams. Main Tasks & Responsibilities Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Emissions and EV range test technicians, ensuring high levels of technical proficiency and collaboration. Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of vehicle emissions testing, including regulatory compliance tests, CO2 emissions, NOx, and particulate matter analysis. Lead EV range testing, including assessing battery performance, energy consumption, and real-world driving conditions. Work closely with R&D engineers to develop and refine testing methodologies and protocols for both internal development and regulatory requirements. Ensure all testing is conducted in adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and company procedures. Assist with facility management inclusive of maintenance, facility calibration, risk assessment and training. Troubleshoot technical issues related to vehicle testing equipment and instrumentation, providing guidance on problem-solving and corrective actions. Review test results, provide detailed analysis, and prepare comprehensive reports to communicate findings to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, data, and results to ensure traceability and compliance with industry regulations. Lead Weekly planning processes, ensuring deployment and concern resolution Stay up-to-date with advancements in emissions testing technology, EV range testing, and industry standards, driving continuous improvement in test methodologies. Support and input into NLH KPI’s to maintain Health & Safety, improve efficiency, and capture knowledge. Additional Tasks and Responsibilities Continuously review and improve testing processes to align with evolving industry standards and best practices. Support the preparation for regulatory audits or inspections and help ensure compliance with ISO17025. Lead ZIP (Zero Injury Program), 5S, Genba Kanri and NLH Efficiency Improvement Activities. Skills & Experience Demonstrable experience in testing associated with development and manufacture of vehicles. Must be capable of operating and understand equipment, associated with relevant testing area. Strong understanding of emissions testing standards (e.g., WLTP, Euro 6, etc…) and electric vehicle range testing protocols. Proficiency in using emissions test equipment and EV testing technologies, as well as data analysis tools. Experience of vehicle assembly/testing techniques and procedures in relevant area of responsibility. Good inter-personal skills for co-ordinating activities with internal / external customers / suppliers Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to guide, motivate, and develop a team of technicians. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical challenges effectively. Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
