My client is seeking a hands-on Commissioning Engineer with strong technical expertise to support delivery across complex engineering projects within a high-spec, cleanroom-based manufacturing environment.
This role is ideally suited to someone with a solid commissioning background who is looking to develop into a managerial position over time. The focus is on practical system commissioning, integration, and technical problem-solving, ensuring systems are fully tested, optimised, and ready for handover in a controlled production setting.
You will play a key role in the final stages of project delivery, working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless system start-up and transition to operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out and support hands-on commissioning activities across HVAC systems, cleanroom environments, utilities, and process systems
* Execute commissioning plans, including system testing, fault finding, and optimisation
* Support system integration and performance testing to ensure operational readiness
* Act as a technical problem solver, identifying and resolving issues during commissioning and start-up phases
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, automation, construction, and validation
* Assist in the development and completion of commissioning documentation (procedures, test scripts, reports)
* Support the transition of systems from construction through to commissioning and final handover
* Contribute to coordination of commissioning activities and timelines, with exposure to project delivery responsibilities
* Interface with automation and control systems (BMS, PLC, SCADA) during commissioning activities
* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and quality standards, particularly within regulated or controlled environments
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Commissioning Engineer / C&I / HVAC commissioning role within cleanroom or controlled environments
* Strong hands-on commissioning capability ideally someone who understands how to commission systems end-to-end
* Experience working within pharmaceutical or similar regulated environments (clean air tech, life sciences, or equivalent preferred)
* Knowledge of HVAC systems, cleanrooms, and utilities (e.g. black utilities, process gases)
* Exposure to automation systems (BMS, PLC, SCADA) is advantageous
* Experience contributing to commissioning documentation and technical reporting
* Strong technical problem-solving ability during system start-up and integration
* Motivated to develop into a leadership/managerial role over time
* Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
