As an HR Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the ESPN HR Business Partner team, contributing to a positive work environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting with HR tasks such as handling requests from the HRBP team at all levels, maintaining employee system records, troubleshooting, providing solutions, and supporting other HR initiatives as needed. Your efforts will help ensure smooth HR operations and promote employee well-being and development.
Responsibilities
1. Support the HRBP team and collaborate with other HR stakeholders to initiate and execute HR-related transactions, including creating and updating positions, posting jobs, managing organizational changes, handling daily requests, and clarifying policies and processes.
2. Assist and partner with the HRBP team to implement and manage ESPN projects and initiatives such as performance management, compensation planning, promotions, and talent planning.
3. Respond to inquiries from the HRBP team and communicate relevant information effectively.
4. Support routine employee requests and issues in partnership with HR Business Partners.
5. Maintain employee system records ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
6. Leverage digital tools to streamline HR processes and explain technical information within the HR team.
7. Research, extract, verify, and compile basic information from available resources; conduct limited analyses to support decision-making.
8. Develop foundational knowledge to identify issues and propose helpful solutions.
9. Support onboarding and offboarding processes, address employee concerns, and mediate workplace disputes.
10. Assist employees in understanding HR policies and procedures.
11. Build strong relationships, follow through on tasks, and be mindful of actions and their impact.
12. Contribute to the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of the HRBP team by modifying work practices to improve efficiency.
13. Recommend policy or procedural changes within area of expertise.
14. Interact with the HRBP team and internal clients, acting as a liaison when necessary.
15. Participate in project teams and contribute to HR strategy development.
16. Perform administrative support tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* At least 1 year of experience in an HR role or relevant process/project management work.
* Strong troubleshooting skills to analyze trends, identify solutions, and communicate recommendations effectively.
* Ability to exercise judgment and discretion, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across teams.
* Organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
* Proficiency in data analysis to support HR decisions.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to foster a positive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Proficiency in MS Office, Workday, SuccessFactors, SAP.
* Knowledge of HR management software and employee lifecycle activities across HR functions.
* Understanding of employment laws and HR principles.
* Experience with HR information systems and strategic HR practices.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent combined with relevant experience.
Preferred Education
HR certification from a recognized institute.
