Interim Finance Officer
What you'll need to succeed
The Client predominantly uses Sage as their Finance System.
Key Accountabilities:
Purchase Ledger Management
1. Process purchase requisitions & raise purchase processing - considering relevant authorisation and financial limits.
2. Place orders (where a central supplier account is held) according to approved purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the Trust’s procurement policy.
3. Process purchase invoices with purchase orders.
4. Prepare and process weekly BACS payment runs, ad-hoc payments & refunds, ensuring appropriate authorisation in accordance with the Trust’s financial policies.
5. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any outstanding queries.
Sales Ledger and Ie Collection
6. Raise and issue sales invoices as required.
7. Monitor outstanding balances and chase overdue payments.
8. Implement and enforce the Trust’s credit control procedures.
9. Facilitate reporting to teachers, process refunds and answer queries.
10. Collect and bank cash collected within the Trust.
Financial Transactions
11. Post direct debit expenses and credit card financial transactions into the accounts ensuring there is correct authorisation for transactions.
12. Ensure accurate allocation of ie and expenditure across appropriate budget codes.
13. Support month-end routines by providing information to Finance Managers.
14. Support year-end processes by providing information to Auditors.
15. Generate reports on outstanding payments, open POs, purchase invoices and credit control activities and investigate discrepancies.
