Are you passionate about supporting residents to live independently, safely, and with confidence in their own homes? We’re working with a leading housing provider who’s looking for an experienced Independent Living Housing Officer to join their dedicated team within the Independent Living service.
In this role, you’ll be the key point of contact for residents living in independent living schemes – delivering a modern, person-centred housing management service that helps customers stay independent, connected, and well supported.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering high-quality, customer-focused housing management across independent living schemes.
Providing a visible, accessible presence for residents – ensuring they always have a trusted point of contact.
Conducting regular “check-ins” with residents to make sure they’re safe, well, and receiving the right support.
Organising scheme meetings and encouraging customer engagement and social inclusion activities.
Carrying out regular Health & Safety and Neighbourhood inspections, taking responsibility for resolving any issues.
Building strong working relationships with onsite care providers, support agencies and external partners.
Managing tenancies proactively through both support and enforcement where needed.
Identifying and reporting safeguarding concerns, ensuring a safe and compliant housing environment.
Using digital tools and systems to maintain accurate tenancy and scheme records.What you’ll need
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Experience in housing, supported housing, or a customer-facing role within the public or not-for-profit sector.
Knowledge of the housing sector and issues affecting older, disabled, or vulnerable residents.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage challenging or sensitive situations.
Good organisational skills and confident IT abilities, including mobile working.
