Job responsibilities
As the Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create delicious and well-balanced meals for the residents. You will work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus that cater to the individual needs and preferences of the residents. The role also involves managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, maintaining HACCP standards, and ensuring efficient stock control.

Person Specification - Qualifications
* Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, as well as having a good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh, seasonal produce.
* The ability to engage with residents, create a warm and welcoming environment, and work within budgets is essential.
Essential skills and experience
* Personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
* Good understanding of HACCP
* Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
* Confident in engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus
* Ability to work within budget and manage stock
