HGV Technician / Mechanic Location: Black Bourton, Oxfordshire Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am 5:00 pm (Saturday overtime optional) Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum About the Company An established plant hire company with over 50 years of industry experience, providing high-quality plant and digger hire across the UK, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to maintain and repair their HGV fleet. This role is key to maintaining fleet reliability and supporting operational efficiency across the business. Key Responsibilities Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs (mechanical and electrical) Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs Conducting 6-weekly inspections Brake testing and diagnostic testing (experience essential) MOT preparation Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and roadworthy Maintaining accurate service records and completing all relevant PMI paperwork About You Essential Proven experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic Strong mechanical knowledge, including servicing, maintenance, and fault finding on HGVs Experience with diagnostic testing and brake testing is essential (support available, but prior experience required) Own tools required (standard personal tools expected; larger/specialist equipment provided) Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Desirable Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) Class 2 (Category C) driving licence Working Hours Monday to Friday, 7:00 am 5:00 pm Saturday work is optional and paid as overtime Whats on Offer Competitive salary of £45,000 - £48,000 per annum Overtime opportunities available Company uniform Works van provided (no travel allowance applicable) Company pension scheme Training opportunities available for the right candidate Whats next?
