Brain Injury Support Worker
Location: Hull
Hours: 8 hours per week, with scope to increase to match wife’s work shifts.
Pay: £15.40 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Brain Injury Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our client, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Requirements: A full UK driving licence and willingness to drive the client’s car are essential due to role responsibilities.
About the Client:
Our client is in his 50s with a brain injury from a work-related incident. He experiences weakness in his right arm and leg, affecting mobility, along with vertigo and mild epilepsy. He also has intermittent hearing loss and tinnitus. He is a family-oriented individual who enjoyed an active lifestyle, including football and rugby, and is keen to continue supporting his daughter in these activities. The family shares their home with a Labrador, so comfort with large dogs is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver personalized care and support.
* Assist with daily living activities: personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation.
* Administer medication and monitor health conditions.
* Accompany the client in the community, including to football matches, therapy sessions, and rugby training/matches.
* Provide emotional support and companionship.
* Maintain accurate records and report any changes in the client’s condition.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members for comprehensive care.
Requirements:
* Experience in a similar role, preferably with brain injury experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic personality.
* Interest in sport, especially football and rugby.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work the specified hours.
* Valid UK driver’s license.
