About the role
The Theatre Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for patients.
You will also:
1. Ensure critical medical history is communicated to the surgical team
2. Provide pre- and post-surgery education to patient and their families
3. Prepare all the necessary complex instruments and equipment
4. Work with the consultant to provide instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required
5. Act as a link between the surgical team and other parts of the theatre and hospital
6. Practice will be in line with the code of conduct and professional boundaries of the nursing professional body
This is a permanent position for 64 hours per fortnight and is located at Royston Hospital.
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
As a Registered Nurse in Theatre, you will be responsible for provide nursing care before, during and after patients undergo a surgical procedure.
You will also demonstrate and have the following skills and experiences:
7. Registered Nurse with current NZ Nursing Council annual practicing certificate
8. Demonstrated nursing experience in a surgical/medical setting preferred
9. Committed to continuous quality improvement and personal development
10. 2+ years experience in theatre.
11. Excellence written and oral communication
12. Be a team player
