The Senior / Principal Consultant will contribute to a wide range of development-related transport projects. The successful individual will bring between 2-8 years’ experience in transport development planning, gained either within a consultancy or local authority.
This is a hands-on, delivery role that requires strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and project management skills. The postholder will be responsible for delivering projects to the highest technical quality, managing smaller and medium-sized assignments, and interfacing with clients on their projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES
Applicants should have:
* A good understanding of the principles of transport planning
* Good presentation and technical writing skills
* An ability to manage their own time to meet project deadlines
* An ability to work with other consultancies in multi-discipline teams on development projects including residential, commercial, retail, and leisure developments
* An ability to project manage smaller and medium sized projects
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documents, including:
* Transport Assessments
* Travel Plans
* Environmental Statement Chapters
* Experience building, running and understanding the outputs of Junctions 10 and LinSig software
* Knowledge of highway design in MfS, DMRB, LTN1/20 and the requirements of Active Travel England and Healthy Streets
* An ability to pursue business development opportunities and build client relationships
* Supporting in negotiations, and attending meetings, with Highway Authorities
* Experience in preparing fee proposals for new projects and budget management
* Inspiring, developing, and mentoring less-experienced members of staff
