Housing and Support Officer - ABC12509 at Aberdeen City Council
Location: Various locations in Aberdeen
Duration: Permanent, Full Time
Note: This role involves working with Council tenants to manage and maintain tenancies, respond to early identification of adult and child protection concerns, and support outcomes through Housing First and Rapid Rehousing plans. It requires collaboration with partners and a commitment to preventing harm and improving quality of life in communities.

PVG membership: Where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will meet the cost of PVG membership for full-time roles with a salary above £30,000 (costs reimbursed and deducted from the first full month’s salary). The Council will initially pay the PVG cost.
Responsibilities
* Develop and sustain relationships with people and communities with complex needs.
* Focus on the best outcomes for each household and work to achieve them with the household.
* Deliver public services to required standards and outcomes.
* Work autonomously, managing own workload, deadlines and appointments; exercise judgement and accountability for own practice.
* Identify vulnerable people, assess needs and implement actions to achieve better outcomes.
* Assess and respond to risk within complex situations.
* Communicate and influence effectively in both oral and written forms with a wide range of audiences.
* Produce and maintain accurate reports and documentation.
* Use a range of computer packages (e.g., Microsoft Office).
* Work towards mandatory qualifications (level 3 SVQ Health and Social Care or CIH in Housing as appropriate) and related registration requirements.
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary context and empathise with people who are vulnerable.
* Deal with sensitive information and confrontational situations using professional judgment and effective communication skills.
* Recognise cases that require input from other services and seek guidance from the line manager when appropriate.
Qualifications and requirements
* The Post Holder Needs To Hold As a Minimum: Standard Grade or equivalent.
* The Postholder Is Able To Demonstrate: ability to work within a multi-disciplinary context; ability to identify and address risks; ability to deliver services to standards; ability to work autonomously; ability to communicate effectively; ability to develop and maintain partnerships with communities.
* Additional relevant qualifications: Health and Social Care related qualification to meet registration requirements (level 3 SVQ Level 7 or equivalent) and involvement with CIH in Housing, as appropriate.
