Engineering Technician - Manufacturing. 18-month fixed-term contract
Shift pattern: From 1st April to 30 June 2025, working Tuesday to Thursday, 6am – 6pm. From 1st July 2025, moving to a Double Day shift – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm – 10pm (alternated weekly). We also have a permanent night shift – Monday to Friday, 10pm – 6am.
Starting salary: £44,668 per annum, rising to £45,618 after a 3-month probation. Double Day shift salary increases to £53,538. Night shift salary: £55,228, rising to £56,178 after probation. Plus highly competitive overtime payments.

We seek an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering Team within the Currency division.
The ideal candidate will have manufacturing experience, with skills in maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize production performance. You should be a time-served apprentice Engineer, multi-skilled with electrical or mechanical bias.
This is a great opportunity to join a historic British manufacturer and global leader in Banknotes solutions. The role is permanent and full-time at our Debden site.
What will you be doing?
* Perform maintenance checks on production equipment to maximize availability and performance.
* Analyze data and use problem-solving tools for improvements.
* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, report findings, and record solutions.
* Update maintenance management systems for data collection and audits.
* Support operational and performance improvements, including training and documentation.
* Assist in introducing new equipment, including training, installation, and commissioning.
* Be flexible with hours and shifts to ensure continuous production.
* Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Analyze equipment performance to help drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Qualifications, skills, and experience
* HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical discipline.
* Qualified with 18th Edition Regulations.
* Experience with Agility CMMS and BMS systems.
* PLC diagnostics training is advantageous.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques like 5S, SMED, Lean, Six Sigma is beneficial.
* Proficient in MS Office; CAD skills are a plus.
* Experience with electro-mechanical control systems and schematics.
