Job Purpose
This is a position for an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor who is looking to take that next step up and leading role, at an exciting time of growth within the Cambridge Building Consultancy team. The associate / senior level role will involve advising clients on a broad range of matters including building surveys, dilapidations, defect analysis, assessments, licence for alteration assessments, schedule of conditions and contract administration services on a variety of property types in the commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, automotive and heritage sectors.
The role will also include the coordination of portfolio projects for national clients, liaising across our network of UK offices and an active role with client development with both existing and new clients.
The successful candidate will also be supported with actively participating in networking events, client development and becoming involved with local groups/professional bodies.
Key responsibilities
* Taking a leading role in the growth of the Building Surveying team, reporting to the head of office with the aim of being an established and recognised service provider within Cambridge and the East Anglian region.
* Manage, coordinate and execute a range of professional instructions including dilapidations, technical due diligence acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, PPM’s and reinstatement cost assessments in achieving fee targets.
* Advising clients about building/property issues, which can include technical, financial, legal, environmental/sustainability, building regulation, and restoration matters.
* Produce defined and accurate instructions to external consultants to undertake detailed planned maintenance surveys, structural surveys etc as and when required.
* Providing project services including feasibility studies, cost consultancy and administering contracts.
* Acting as a mentor in guidance of graduate surveyors through their RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.
* Client liaisons and business development.

* MRICS Chartered status
* Demonstrate experience of being able to take a leading role as part of a team.
* Good communication and organisational skills
