About us
We're an organization committed to continuous improvement, driven by a determination to deliver care we're proud of and that our patients are satisfied with. We are no longer in special measures; we have opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital (KGH). Our Chief Executive, Matthew Trainer, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal.
Our main sites are KGH in Goodmayes and Queen's Hospital in Romford. We have busy emergency departments serving over 330,000 visitors last year. We are campaigning for £35m to transform the A&E at Queen's and eliminate corridor care.
Our patients benefit from facilities like the Women's Health Hub in Ilford, an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch, and Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch. These CDCs operate 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an additional 88,000 scans annually.
Our diverse staff of 8,000 come from 146 countries and many work flexibly. Over 400 staff are enrolled in Ofsted-accredited apprenticeship programs. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
