Copello have partnered with an established defence engineering business in the recruitment of a Head of Sales. This role can be based out of several locations, including Hampshire and Gloucestershire.
You will provide strategic leadership across the sales function, managing, developing, and empowering a high-performing team to deliver exceptional results. You’ll lead the market strategy, build a robust pipeline, and drive sustainable growth. Working closely with technical and delivery leaders, you’ll ensure customer needs are met through innovative, high-value solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and deliver sales strategy and plans aligned to business goals.
* Build, manage, and review a reliable pipeline with accurate forecasting.
* Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary sales team, ensuring accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
* Establish and maintain strong customer and partner relationships.
* Drive a collaborative sales culture that aligns closely with engineering, commercial, and delivery teams.
* Represent the business at key industry, customer, and stakeholder events.
* Ensure effective sales governance, risk management, and compliance with internal processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong background in business development or senior sales leadership.
* Demonstrable track record of winning major programmes or strategic campaigns.
* Understanding of Defence or complex technology markets.
* Skilled in stakeholder engagement, forecasting, and pipeline development.
* Proven experience in leading, managing, and developing high-performing sales teams.
* Ability to drive a high-performance culture while maintaining operational discipline and strong customer focus.
