POST: Employment Facilitator

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

LOCATION: Worthing

SALARY: £26,000 - £27,000 per annum

ANNUAL LEAVE: 25 days + 8 bank holiday days paid holiday

INTRODUCTION TO WHITEHEAD-ROSS EDUCATION AND CONSULTING

Whitehead-Ross Education and Consulting (WREC) is an education and social welfare organisation. Founded in 2012, we deliver a variety of high-quality skills-related programmes and social services provision.

Our programmes include support for unemployed individuals to retrain and secure jobs, vocational training programmes, adult education and social services provision such as support for families who have children with disabilities and parenting support.

With a workforce of 126 staff and still expanding, between 1st August 2022 and 30th July 2023, we supported a total of 3,568 participants across our programmes in Cornwall, Dorset, South Wales, Sussex, Wiltshire and Worcestershire. Since we started in 2012, we have now supported 11,493 individuals

Our recent Ofsted inspection (28th – 30th June 2024) found that "Leaders and managers are proactive in helping to promote the well-being of their staff. They provide staff with manageable workloads. Leaders have created a culture where adults develop positive attitudes to learning and work as a result of studying the curriculum and receiving support and guidance from tutors."

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION

The Restart scheme gives individuals who have been out of work for at least 6 months enhanced support to find jobs in their local area. The programme is designed to break down any employability barriers that could be holding them back from finding work. Restart referrals will be made over a 3-year period and provides up to 12 months of tailored support for each participant. By working with employers, local government, and other partners we will deliver tailored support for individuals into gaining sustainable employment.

You will also be spending two days a month delivering an ICT for Employability Course to develop learners and allow them to gain knowledge and skills in basic ICT tasks such as word processing, printing and scanning.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To deliver high impact, engaging and interactive employment skills to groups of participants. The groups will require focussed digital skills training such as CV writing, transferable skills analysis, job search and interview skill preparation to help them move on to achieve and sustain new employment.

* Facilitate face to face or digital employability sessions to groups of participants
* Select appropriate facilitation methods or activities, design and develop interventions which meet participant requirements to develop realistic job goals and career paths
* Manage participants both face to face and virtually, encouraging participation and ongoing engagement with employability interventions
* Work collaboratively with operational teams to offer high impact and engaging training solutions to meet a range of participants needs including mock interviews, 'how to' sessions and other work preparation activities
* Meet personal performance targets, Key Performance Indicators and all Quality and Compliance measures by delivering high quality employability provision to participants, both remotely and face to face
* Provide advice, guidance, and challenge where appropriate to develop customer's capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure realistic job goals
* Develop relationships and networks with key stakeholders including employers, Job Centre teams and provisions and funding providers to ensure smooth operation of all processes
* Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services in the local area/region, building knowledge in areas such as specific disabilities, housing, benefits etc
* Drive our customer service standards so that all participants are provided with the same high standard of service that maximises their chances of securing sustainable employment
* Maintain participant records to a required quality standard to ensure the participant journey is documented in accordance with our quality standards and contractual requirements
* When delivering training remotely ensure appropriate digital technologies are being utilised with an appropriate delivery environment that supports privacy and confidentiality of attendees.
* Any other ad hoc duties in line with delivery program requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential:

* Experience of delivering high impact, engaging and interactive group training sessions
* Experience of working in a customer focused, results driven environment
* Experience of providing one to one support and coaching to individuals with the ability to constructively challenge where needed.

Desirable:

* A recognised Teaching or Training qualification
* Knowledge of recruitment legislation and the local labour market.
* Knowledge and experience of the employability sector.

* You will require an Enhanced DBS Disclosure for this role, which the Company will pay for.
