Here at P&O Ferries we are seeking a Contractor Assurance & Regulatory Standards Manager to join our team working from Woking on apermanent basis.
This is an opportunity to work as part of the HSSE team helping to ensure that Contractor Assurance standards are achieved, ISO procedural compliance is maintained, and Fleet Regulations are reviewed and updated in collaboration with key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a proven record in Contractor Assurance, ISO systems and a solid knowledge of Maritime Safety Management Systems. The role can be based at any P&O Ferries location, with frequent travel required as part of this role.
Key responsibilities and duties:
1. Lead the implementation and monitoring of the Contractor Control Standard across all business units.
2. Ensure contractor prequalification, onboarding, and performance monitoring processes are robust, consistent, and effective.
3. Conduct audits, inspections, and assurance checks to verify compliance with contractual, legal, and HSSE requirements.
4. Provide guidance and training to entities and project teams on contractor assurance requirements.
5. Oversee compliance with relevant ISO standards (. ISO 45001, ISO 14001) across contractor activities.
6. Monitor and assure compliance with Fleet Regulations and other applicable international standards.
7. Support certification audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring all requirements are met.
8. Maintain and update contractor assurance frameworks to align with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
9. Identify risks associated with contracted activities and drive mitigation strategies.
10. Analyse contractor performance data, highlight trends, and recommend improvement actions.
11. Support incident investigations involving contractors and ensure effective corrective/preventive actions.
12. Champion “Zero Harm” and “Zero Avoidable Damage” principles across all contracted activities.

13. Act as the primary point of contact for contractor assurance across the UK & Europe.
14. Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on contractor performance, risks, and compliance status.
15. Engage with regulators, auditors, and industry bodies as required.
16. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to embed contractor assurance into everyday operations.
