Occupational Therapy Assessment Officer

Specialist Community Occupational Therapy and Sensory Services (SCOTSS)

Royal Borough of Greenwich

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Royal Borough of Greenwich Specialist Community Occupational Therapy (OT) and Sensory Services Team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to develop their skills and is looking for a new challenge in the workplace. We would value keen, creative individuals who thrive on enhancing services.

This role requires the post-holder to undertake community visits, often working alone and may require physical exertion assisting with equipment provision and the moving & handling of clients. The successful candidate will have:

Level 3 NVQ in Health / Social Care related qualification or equivalent experience

* A good understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy in adult social care.
* The ability to undertake functional assessments / interventions to deliver Occupational Therapy services.
* Be knowledgeable of relevant legislation with an awareness of working with vulnerable adults in a social care setting.
* Awareness of the requirements of lone working, completing assessments in client’s homes / care establishments, joint working with other Social Care / housing / health colleagues and safeguarding duties, including risk assessments.
