Main Responsibilities:

1. Leadership
* Develop close, trusting relationships with Business Unit Leaders, senior team, and other department heads, ensuring development excellence principles are integrated into processes and outputs.
* Create a success and quality model within the team, ensuring all members understand their roles and contributions towards successful client and business outcomes.
* Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to evolve service offerings, encouraging innovative thinking through research activities.
* Establish training plans to develop transformation consultancy skills among key team members.
* Promote services and capabilities via thought leadership outputs.
* Ensure team outputs meet the brief, exceed client expectations, and adhere to best practices.
* Present findings, insights, and suggestions to directors, senior managers, or clients as appropriate.
* Discover and implement innovative work improvements.
* Motivate and drive the development team to succeed.
1. Performance
* Define, share, and monitor personal performance targets for all team members.
* Create and maintain a robust team structure with appropriate oversight and support.
* Ensure tooling and processes support secure, robust solutions.
* Work with Compliance, Legal, and IT to escalate issues swiftly (security incidents, breaches, vulnerabilities).
* Plan and support Disaster Recovery testing and reporting.
* Maintain departmental certifications (OWASP, ISO27001, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, PCI-DSS).
* Develop departmental partnership plans and ensure training requirements are met.
* Encourage ownership of outputs, emphasizing timely, quality, and secure delivery.
* Continuously evaluate capabilities against industry trends; ensure training and certifications are current.
* Collaborate with operations and client teams for forecasts and resource planning.
* Oversee recruitment, contractor, and partner programs to meet capacity demands.
* Coordinate with Head of Compliance and IT for Information Security Management System standards.
* Monitor team leave to maintain capacity and capability year-round.
* Support Business Development through pre-sales and pitches.
* Maximize profitability via high performance and quality.
2. Management
* Manage a team of 35 Software Engineers, Testers, and Architects.
* Mentor, motivate, and support team members' growth.
* Handle recruitment with approval from Business Unit Leaders.
* Manage team performance, providing recognition and addressing issues promptly.
* Create Personal Development Plans and support achievement.
* Conduct regular appraisals and one-on-ones.
* Set clear, measurable goals, review regularly, and at appraisals.
* Assist team and department management with appraisals, objectives, and performance issues.
* Develop team skills aligned with business objectives.
* Ensure daily timesheet completion.
* Analyze team billability and productivity, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
* Support the new business team with proposals and presentations.

* Proven track record in delivering transformative business systems.
* Experience reviewing and onboarding new technologies aligned with strategy.
* Experience evolving department systems and processes with KPIs and outcomes.
* Focus on quality, including managing an integrated QA team.
* Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and clients.
* Skills to pitch to prospective clients.
* Team performance management experience—setting SMART objectives.
