Are you a childand adolescent mental health practitioner looking for an exciting opportunityto make a positive difference to the mental health of children and youngpeople?
If so, we arelooking for a Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our LifecycleChildren and Young Peoples Mental Health Service within the South Tyneside. We are looking for an appropriately skilled individual tojoin a multi-disciplinary team in the development and delivery of interventionsthat identify mental health difficulties at the earliest stage, and facilitatethe provision of services that promote resilience, and enable positive mentalhealth. We aim to increase the access of CYPMH interventions by offeringtraining and supervision to universal child practitioners as well as providingeffective interventions directly to children, young people and their families.The service is comprised of generic and specialist primary mental health professionalsproviding early intervention at a targeted level, supporting professionals fromother agencies and providing the link between universal services and specialistCYPMHS.
We are lookingfor an individual who has the ability to both deliver high quality lowintensity CBT interventions and help develop the skills and knowledge ofuniversal practitioners in children and young peoples mental health.
Main duties of the job
Youwill have sound knowledge and skills pertaining to CYPMH. You will workautonomously as a practitioner and collaboratively with colleagues across awide range of professions and organisations.
Youmust have
Registration with an appropriategoverning body, i.e. BABCP(British Association of Behavioural and CognitivePsychotherapists), BPS(British Psychological Society) as a Childrens WellbeingPractitioner, or working towards registration and successfully registeredwithin the first six months of appointment.
Experience of working to support themental health needs of children, young people and families
Experience of working within a communitycontext
Ability to complete mental healthassessments and plan, implement and evaluate specialist packages of care forchildren, young people and their families
Knowledge and experience of safeguardingand the promotion of welfare in children
Ability to work at the complex interfacebetween universal and specialist childrens service provision
Ability to work as part of amulti-disciplinary team
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other associated ITpackages.
Proven organisational skills and proven time and caseloadmanagement skills.
Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Job responsibilities
To work as amember of the Children and Young Peoples Mental HealthServices in South Tynesideand Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust providing a Getting Help mental healthservice to children and young people
This includes the direct provision of evidence-based interventions and outcomefocused standards of care to children and families/carers.
The delivery ofhigh quality training, consultation, and support to other staff.The service will be delivered from Community bases as an integral part of anagreed iTHRIVE multi-agency model of Children and Young Peoples Mental HealthService provision.
Work collaboratively with multi professional teams to ensure practice isefficient, effective, evidence based and safe
This will be achieved by:
Listening to and understanding the community
Bringing people together to develop a shared localvision with service users as equal partners
Assessing community assets, resources, needs andissues
Empowering community members to identify localissues and articulate solutions
Linking in with Community Mental Health Services(i.e. CYPS, IAPT, CTT)

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Post Graduate Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner Diploma ( or if current trainee, to have successfully achieved this qualification within 6 months of appointment )
* Registration with an appropriate governing body, i.e. BABCP(British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists), BPS(British Psychological Society) as a Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner, or working towards registration and successfully registered within the first six months of appointment.
* Additional post graduate qualification in Children and Young Peoples Mental Health, therapeutic training or other relevant area.
* Recognised supervision certificate.
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to carry out clinical and risk assessments with children, young people and their families
* Knowledge of universal and specialist childrens mental health service provision.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other associated IT packages.
* Proven organisational skills
* Proven time and caseload management skills
* Able to write clear reports and letters. Demonstrates a high standard in both written and oral communication.
* Ability to engage vulnerable and underserved populations.
* Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

* Ability to work under supervision and make good use of the supervisory process for personal and clinical development.
