We’re supporting a UK-based construction consultancy that delivers complex projects in secure and regulated environments across the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Digital Systems Developer to design, build, and integrate internal business systems that support operational delivery and senior leadership decision-making.
This is a hands-on contract role within the Business Systems function, working closely with the Operations Director, Business Manager, and senior stakeholders.
Security clearance: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance. This typically requires British citizenship and continuous UK residency for the past 5 years.
Role overview
The Digital Systems Developer will focus on the technical build, integration, administration, and oversight of internal business systems. The role centres on developing reporting and automation solutions across CRM, pipeline management, team utilisation, and project delivery.
The technology stack is primarily Microsoft Power Platform, with responsibility for integrating third-party systems and enabling intuitive, insight-led reporting.
Key responsibilities
* Design, build, and maintain custom applications and dashboards using Power Apps and Power BI
* Develop and maintain business system reporting for CRM, pipeline, utilisation, and project delivery
* Automate workflows across M365, SharePoint, and Power Automate
* Integrate external platforms (e.g. Xero, finance, workforce, and operational systems) using REST APIs
* Enable Copilot-style querying and data visualisation to support decision-making
* Work closely with senior leadership to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
* Manage and implement defects, enhancements, and change requests
* Provide clear documentation and deliver training to internal users
* Support the ongoing administration and improvement of internal systems
Required experience
* Proven hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
* Strong understanding of M365 and SharePoint, including lists, permissions, and workflow automation
* Experience integrating third-party systems via REST APIs, including authentication
* Strong capability in data modelling, Power Query, and DAX
* Comfortable working independently and converting business processes into technical solutions
Desirable experience
* Dataverse and solution lifecycle / ALM management
* Azure services such as Functions and Logic Apps
* Governance, security, and environment strategy
* Experience working in construction or project-based organisations
* Power Fx and light JavaScript customisation
* Familiarity with testing and documentation standards for enterprise applications
