About The Role

Hinkley Point C (HPC), Bristol or Bridgwater – at least 3 days in the office

Are you ready to take the commercial lead on some of the UK’s most exciting infrastructure contracts? At EDF, we’re looking for several Senior Commercial Managers to help shape the future of low-carbon energy by driving commercial success at Hinkley Point C.

The Opportunity

The Senior Commercial Manager is commercially responsible, on each contract assigned to them, for: supporting the Procurement Process during contract creation (pre-award) to enable successful award and, commercially leading and managing the contract/s to successful completion during the execution phase to maximise operational and financial performance and minimise commercial risk in order to help support the safe and cost-effective delivery of NNB programme and business objectives.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most ambitious energy projects. You’ll lead the commercial delivery of key contracts, from procurement through to close-out, ensuring value, compliance, and performance. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a safe, efficient, and cost-effective nuclear programme.

Pay, Benefits & Culture

The salary associated with this role starts at £78,000 per annum. We offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the commercial lifecycle of contracts, from defining requirements and evaluating tenders to negotiating terms and ensuring successful execution. Your expertise will ensure contracts are robust, compliant, and aligned with project goals.

Once contracts are live, you’ll manage supplier relationships, oversee payments, handle variations and claims, and ensure commercial risks are identified and mitigated early. You’ll also lead commercial reviews, monitor progress, and ensure accurate reporting.

As the key commercial contact, you’ll work closely with project teams, legal, finance, and procurement to ensure contracts are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. Your work will directly impact the success of the HPC project and the UK’s energy future.

Who You Are

You bring strong commercial and contract management experience, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects. You’re confident navigating complex contracts and making sound decisions that deliver value and reduce risk.

You’re a skilled communicator and negotiator, able to build trusted relationships with suppliers and internal teams alike. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities make you a reliable and proactive team player.

Familiarity with industry-standard contract forms and a solid understanding of performance measurement, risk, and change management will set you up for success. If you’re ready to lead with purpose and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Applications close for this role on 31st August 2025, with interviews following shortly after.
