About the role

We are looking for digital media practitioner-researchers to lead UCL's BA Media programme. This unique course blends creative media production and media theory, preparing its students to develop careers in the rapidly evolving creative industries. Through making, experimentation, critical reflection, and engagement with theory, students become experts in digital media, including film, games, and interactive media.

Please follow this link to the prospectus to find out more:

We seek world-class talent; candidates must have an outstanding research track record.

You will cultivate critical reflection through digital making, encouraging students to engage with materials, technologies, aesthetics, and craftsmanship. They will support the integration of theory and practice by embedding critical approaches to media and technology, notably film, games, and interactive and immersive media. They will enable students to apply relevant theory directly within their creative and practical work.

About you

We welcome applications from practitioner-researchers with significant experience in leading an undergraduate programme.

You have significant experience in leading an undergraduate programme and the ability to cultivate critical reflection through digital making. You are skilled at supporting the integration of theory and practice by embedding critical approaches to media and technology, notably film, games, and interactive and immersive media. You bring subject expertise in an area directly relevant to the programme, for example,

* film making
* games design
* interactive and immersive media
* computational culture and practice
* creative AI
* the politics of media and audiences
* media aesthetics
* media culture.

Your application form should address all the person specification points and should clearly demonstrate how your skills and experience meet each of the criteria.
