Job summary
The management of the Building Control function within the Health and Built Environment section, including human, physical, and financial resources. Responsibilities include:
* Handling matters under Building Regulations legislation, including validation and processing of fees
* Carrying out pre-application consultations, street naming, and postal numbering
* Processing property certificates, dealing with dangerous structures, dilapidated buildings, and neglected sites
* Enforcing energy performance of Buildings Regulations, fire risk assessments, and disability access audits
* Coordinating and delivering energy efficiency advice and home accident prevention services
* Providing advice to internal customers on licensing where appropriate
This role involves developing, delivering, and leading statutory inspection programs, education, and enforcement of relevant legislation. Ensure compliance with statutory and legislative requirements, good governance, health and safety, and confidentiality.
