We are seeking a highly organised and motivated Senior Safety Engineer- Nuclear to support a programme of work, preparing a dock for defueling and dismantling of submarines. The role is remote working, with occasional visits (likely to be 1 day per month) to Devonport.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Safety Engineer, your activities could include but won’t be limited to:
* The provision of Nuclear and Radiological knowledge and support to the business
* The provision of technical advice on Nuclear Safety Assessment processes and policy
* Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and the terms of the Site Licence
* Delivery of Nuclear Safety Cases and Licencing Plans
* Development and implementation of Nuclear Safety processes and standards
This project presents an opportunity to get involved in the development on a new Safety Case.
Qualifications
* Degree level in an Engineering or Scientific discipline and/or have relevant knowledge and experience; a background in nuclear/radiological safety is highly beneficial for the roles we are looking to fill.
* Registered as a Chartered Engineer (or be working towards chartered status).
Essential Skills
* Good interpersonal skills and be competent in verbal and written communication, with the ability to operate and interface effectively with Senior Managers and internal stakeholders.
Experience
* For this role we are looking for specific experience in Deterministic Safety Analysis to support this area of Safety Case development.

* The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
* This post may be based in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
* Passport, Licences/Certificates and Qualification documentation must be provided at interview stage.
