My client is a leading international law firm that are looking for a proactive & collaborative Senior Learning & Development Manager to join their team in London on a permanent basis.
The main responsibilities for the Senior Learning & Development Manager will be manage the strategic and operational lead on the firm’s L&D infrastructure, through the design, development and delivery of a global learning and development programme, to include technical/legal, management and core skills training.
The key duties will include:
1. Leadership of the L&D function including management of 2 L&D Advisors.
2. Managing the firm's development programmes effectively managing the delivery of the communications, programme design and delivery in-house.
3. Providing coaching and support to staff on a one-to-one basis.
4. Liaising with Industry Group Leaders/Training Partners, Knowledge Management, Human Resources and Heads of Business Services to identify current and future training needs.
5. Managing the global (central) L&D budget, including forecasting and monitoring monthly spend, and evaluate cost-effective solutions of implementing training.
6. Overseeing the provision of technical legal training, which is managed by the KM function.
7. Assisting with the rollout of firm-wide training.
8. Working in partnership with the HR Department in the continuous monitoring of the firmwide induction for all new starters.
The Senior Learning & Development Manager will ideally have relevant experience in a Senior L&D role in professional services organisation. It is essential to have significant experience designing, delivering and evaluating development activities within a global organisation along with previous programme management experience of a range of learning initiatives especially at a senior level. The right candidate will have experience in team coaching, ideally with a formal coaching qualification and be effective at people management. An understanding of SRA regulations relating to learning and development will be necessary. The Senior Learning & Development Manager will be a resilient, proactive and driven individual with excellent communication skills.
