Job Title: General Assistant
Job Type: Part-Time (Weekends)
Hours:
* Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
* Sunday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Position Overview:
Aylings Garden Centre is seeking a friendly and motivated General Assistant to join our team on weekends. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about gardening and customer service. As a General Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience while helping to maintain the garden centre's appearance and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and other products.
* Provide knowledgeable advice on gardening techniques, plant care, and product usage.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, displays, and outdoor areas.
* Loading customers cars with heavy items.
* Restock shelves and displays as needed to ensure product availability.
* Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
* Assist with loading and unloading deliveries and stocking inventory.
* Support promotional events and activities as required.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not required.
* A passion for gardening and horticulture is a plus.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.
