Overview
Assistant/ Associate Professor, Honorary Consultant in Thoracic Radiology (Fixed Term) – 5 years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal subject to available funding. This full-time university post is based in the Academic Department of Radiology with clinical sessions at Royal Papworth Hospital (RPH) and Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH).
Responsibilities
* Develop and lead a programme of academic research in thoracic imaging on the campus.
* Support the imaging needs of the thoracic oncology, transplant, pulmonary vascular disease unit, cystic fibrosis unit, and cardiothoracic services at RPH and CUH.
* Contribute to developing new services and research projects with clinical colleagues on RPH, CUH, and the wider campus.
* Collaborate with Radiology, RPH, the Heart and Lung Research Institute (HLRI), CUH, and industry partners to advance imaging and thoracic research.
* Engage with an internationally competitive Department of Radiology that includes imaging scientists and a strong doctoral/post-doctoral programme and state-of-the-art facilities.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Clinical skills in thoracic radiology and the ability to contribute to both clinical and research activities.
* Proven ability to develop and lead academic research programmes in thoracic imaging.
* Eligibility to live and work in the UK; health assessment is required after an offer of employment; Honorary Clinical Contract will be required.
* Desire to contribute to maintaining leading-edge status in imaging and thoracic research.
Employment details
* Contract: 5 years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal subject to available funding.
* Full-time appointment with clinical sessions at RPH and CUH on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
