Strategy Lead – Role Overview
As Strategy Lead, you will join the Strategy team, reporting to the Head of Strategy. The team sets the long-term direction for the VOA across three strategic objectives: providing trusted valuations efficiently, delivering excellent customer service, and being a great place to work.
We collaborate with policy, operations, and central functions to define and prioritize the Agency’s goals. We analyze data to develop evidence-based proposals and solutions for complex challenges. We translate strategies into actionable plans.
The Strategy Team is part of the broader Strategy and Transformation Group, supporting all Agency aspects to develop and implement transformation initiatives. We ensure alignment across programs and projects, providing a comprehensive view of the Agency’s efforts.
Initially, as Strategy Lead, you will be responsible for the VOA’s Customer & Channel Strategy, ensuring our activities and transformation plans align with customer priorities. You will collaborate with operational, data, customer experience, communications, and transformation colleagues to embed these priorities into the Agency’s broader strategy. The role involves significant senior stakeholder engagement.
Beyond this, you will support broader strategic elements related to VOA’s transformation and operational improvements.
Strategy Lead – Key responsibilities
The Strategy Lead plays a vital role in developing VOA strategies and transitioning them into design and delivery. Key responsibilities include:
* Owning the Customer & Channel Strategy, ensuring activities align with strategic principles and remain relevant to stakeholders.
* Leading Strategy Development by defining ambitions, developing business cases, conducting strategic analysis, and enabling strategy implementation.
* Transitioning strategies into design and delivery by refining roadmaps, testing assumptions, conducting cost-benefit analyses, and working closely with design, delivery, and operational teams to maintain strategic vision.
* Providing strategic input into investment cases, portfolio assessments, and business planning.
* Managing Stakeholders by identifying key relationships and fostering collaboration.
* Building Strategic Capability through personal development and team growth initiatives.
