About The Role
Working closely with the clinical pharmacist and multidisciplinary team, you will:
* Play a key role in the pharmaceutical care of patients.
* Support all aspects of medicines management within the hospice.
* Liaise with internal and external health‑care professionals.
* Work collaboratively with the inpatient multidisciplinary team to optimise patients’ medicines and reduce the risk of medication errors.
* Problem‑solve medication‑related issues and queries.
* Procure medication for inpatient use and manage discharge to community pharmacy.
* Support and develop other members of the pharmacy and nursing team.
* Benefit from opportunities for service improvement, delivery of education and training, and other personal and professional development opportunities.
This post provides service to the 19 inpatient beds across the two inpatient wards at Marie Curie Hospice.
About You
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Hold a National Certificate in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
* Have a Scottish Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Pharmacy Services.
* Completed the HN: Procedures for Pharmacy Dispensary Checking Technicians or the Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician Award (provided by Buttercups or NPA, 2019 or before).
* Have an HNC in Pharmacy Services Development and Management or equivalent experience. If you do not possess this qualification but can demonstrate equivalent professional experience, a Mapping Assessment Form must be completed and submitted with your application.
